Grand Hotel Tremezzo – Falling in love with Como
My affection for Italy is no secret to the world. While France inspires my designs, Italy inspires my existence. Perhaps the fact that both Lebanon and Italy share a Mediterranean line brings our cultures a notch closer.
I can’t define my love for Italy in one word. Its the food, the people, the fashion, the culture, the walls, nature, beaches.. it’s a whole life. While I try to explore as much as possible from Italy on every visit, I’ve been repeatedly visiting Lake Como as I’ve become passionate about it.
While my last trip to Como was my 3rd time this year, it was by far the most memorable. I stayed at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, where I didn’t have the heart to leave the hotel.
The Grand Hotel Tremezzo was built in 1910 with Art Nouveau style and decoration surrounding its guests with every bit of luxury, glamour and authentic class. Although the building itself is a Palace, you get that sense of privacy and exclusivity.
My favorite part of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo
My lake view! I would stand on my terrace for hours if possible watching the Bellagio and the mountains with the snow on them – a scenery I don’t get much of living in Dubai. After my exhibition at Vendome Luxury Paris, all I wanted was some peace and the Grand Hotel Tremezzo gave me that and much more. Tranquility with anything I could ever want under my finger tip.
The Grand Hotel Tremezzo has it all
Their Award winning T-Spa offers is the ultimate glamorous getaway giving you a modern Italian day with everything one could desire from massage, facial, nail care, and Hamam. My favorite part was the relaxation lounge that overlooks the lake. Not to mention the variety of pools they have whether indoors or outdoors. The one my eyes and body was immediately drawn to was the pool literally by the lake.
For dinner, I advise you to try out Sala Regina, whose menu is directed by Executive Chef Osvaldo Presazzi Guactiero, the first Italian Chef to ever receive a Michelin Star, as well as under the consultancy of Gualtiero Marchesi, the chef who made the biggest contribution to the evolution of Italian cuisine.. Sala Regina’s menu is also Specifically try his signature Saffron Risotto with Gold Leaf. If you’re staying at the hotel, you’ll also enjoy your breakfast at the same restaurant.
The moment you arrive, a limousine awaits you at the airport and if you’re booked in a suite you have your own butler.
What is the most important element in a hotel?
Some may think Location. I believe its the loyalty that the hotel’s staff seeds in their guests that makes us want to come back. However, when one hotel embraces location, loyalty, luxury and every other aspect a 5-star hotel could want, one would find it challenging to settle for anything less.
Thank you Grand Hotel Tremezzo for the most unforgettable time of my life. You made me fall in love with Como all over again.
