Mirror (A Prologue)

April 15th will mark the launch of my latest high-end Ready-to-Wear collection “I by Aiisha” under the title of “Mirror”. The launch will be in a form of a fashion show and a video campaign featuring celebrities from the Middle East, North Africa and Bollywood, who will attend the fashion show.

On that day, my guests and I will be surrounded by everything beautiful!

Today I celebrate my 30th birthday.

Little did I know that at 30 I’ll be having a life full of challenges, happiness and success.

Its a formula that each and every one of this email’s readers has participated in. Thank you.

My first received gift was seeing Raya Abirached wearing AIISHA last night at the Golden Globes 2013. The dress witnessed a major public affection as I sat down last night reading all the tweets.

The Dubai International Film Festival came in a festive season, one that calls for celebrations, great movies and lots of good fashion. This year, the DIFF had 3 beautiful ladies wearing AIISHA Couture to its red carpet.
 ♥ Joelle Mardinian: Celebrity makeup artist, Max Factor Ambassador and TV personality Joelle Mardinian wore a Champaign Forest couture dress from AIISHA Couture. Joelle, known for her style, took a new whimsical approach for the DIFF and looked dreamy!

♥ Raya Abirached: The top international movies are weekly anticipated by millions of viewers on MBC2 waiting for Raya to give us her “Scoop” meeting with all our favorite A-List celebrities. Raya is also the host of Arab’s Got Talent and is the ambassador of Head & Shoulders. She is the most natural beauty & warm personality that I have ever met. Raya chose a simpler version of Black Forest for the 2nd day of the DIFF and hosted the award ceremony with Cate Blanchette.

♥ Aseel Omran: Aseel become a known face after her reality show on MBC TV exploring her artistic future where she then took a leap and became a full time actress and singer. Aseel, is by far one of the most elegant and delicate ladies to cross my way. Aseel chose a white Magical dress for the final day at the DIFF.

Chelsie Hightower wears AIISHA

ABC’s Dancing With The Stars gorgeous Chelsie Hightower was spotted in an AIISHA black pearl Couture dress on the red carpet at “The Avengers” Premiere. I love how Chelsie makes black so sexy with his skin complexion and haircolor and how she makes such a simple silhoutte look so original. Take a good look at those legs!

AIISHA S/S 2012 in Paris

I have the pleasure to announce that our AIISHA S/S 2012 Couture collection Le Pouvoir De La Poudre will be presented in Paris for buyers to view from the 20th January until the 15th of February. The presentation coincides with the Paris Fashion Week as I’ll be there not only to meet buyers, but also to watch my favorite fashion shows like Elie Saab, Stephane Roland and George Hobeika.

Pink October 2010 – حملة اكتوبر الوردية

Every year comes October to remind us of taking care of ourselves. Especially women, mothers, career driven, young girls, and house wives.. all should not neglect their health and think that they’re safe.

The Unite Arab Emirates has initiated a campaign for breast cancer awareness and have named it Pink October, where celebrities and influential people in the UAE were invited to be a part of the video and photoshoot supporting the campaign. I had the pleasure of taking a part of this campaign and I hope that wherever you are, you’d be participating in spreading this awareness. Remember that if you catch it at an early stage, you have higher survival percentage. Above all, remember that you’re beautiful no matter what.

In the end, most of the cases (that I’ve witnessed) deteriorated once they learned that they had cancer. Its our fear that gets to us. Not cancer.

Aiisha on Ana Zahra

For those familiar with the Arab Media, Zahrat Al Khaleej magazine is one of the top 3 in the GCC. The team behind Zahrat Al Khaleej has come together to extend their vision into an Arabic only website under the name of Ana Zahra. Incidentally, Ana Zahra means (I’m a flower). The website will be under www.anazahra.com

It will be covering lifestyle, fashion and beauty. Contributers will be from Paris, Saudi Arabia, Beirut, and of course the UAE.

A few months ago, I was approached by Zoya Sakr, most likely the tallest lady I’ve ever met. But also one of the finest, most elegant and has some mystery in her eyes. She observes a lot.. she appreciates well.

After hearing about my lifestyle and all that I do, I was immediately categorized as one of their Inspirational Women and was requested to write my diaries to Ana Zahra.

The challenge to me was to write in Arabic. I “was” the top student in high school with my Arabic, but that kind of evaporated  throughout the years for the lack of practice. However, when I started writing, it all started flooding. I had a style in writing. Its easy yet deep. At least thats how I like to think about it. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

The first few articles will be more like an introduction and talking about my history on how I got into Fashion, talking about each collection, what was behind it and what it meant to me, my styling career and lots about my family.

Its about my personal fashion oriented life.

My policy was to delete as less as possible. Just let it out, be myself and within the borders of respecting the public.

Experts and contributors will include the likes of Joelle Mardinian, who looked stunning wearing one of my Love Affair dresses at our group photoshoot. I’ll write a separate blog about that.

For now, I’d like to thank Zoya, Ana Zahra Team, my family and all of those who have supported me.

Meeting with Chris Hassall

Sunday, the 4th April, was the first live interaction on my blog and it happened to be with Chris Hassall, the Global External Relations Officer of Procter & Gamble. It was basically a comment/ question from his side and an answer from my side discussing blogs, its importance and its relevance to the Arab world.

On that night, I met with the team of P&G and of course with Chris. I enjoyed every minute of it and I specifically appreciated the ideas Chris and I exchanged. These ideas will soon be reflected on my blog. It’s always amazing to see things from a male’s perspective..

P&G is actually a very active organization when it comes to charity and volunteering. One of their main products (PUR Water Filteration) is one that cleans any contaminated water and makes it drinkable. Having said that, from a fashion perspective, the brand “Aiisha” has few charity projects already in process and to be revealed very soon. Once of which is already in the very latest Emirates Women magazine under the topic of Fashion with a Heart.
