As you may have noticed, I’ve posted my Resort 2016 on my social media, but couldn’t officially launch it due to an agreement with Kul Al Usra magazine, which entails them to be the first to exclusivity launch the AIISHA RAMADAN Resort 2016 collection in collaboration with Shiseido cosmetics.
Now that Kul Al Usra magazine’s photoshoot is out, I’d love to share with you the story of my RESORT 2016, 21st Century.
I have always imagined how life would have been, had I been brought up in a different era. As a child I was fascinated by the golden age of Hollywood and Middle Eastern movies; I was mesmerised by the natural elegance, the graceful manners, the pristine and immaculate fashion sense.
How could I capture this beautiful time and recreate it in my collections.. how could I represent the stars that inspired so many of today’s fashion movements.. as I started to sketch I transported myself back into this time; each line told a story, each pleat, color and shape represented one of these icons that seemed to naturally come to life in my range. I wanted to bring Audrey Hepburn, Rita Hayworth, Hind Rustom and Faten Hamama to my world.
